HMMMM, good question. I think before WW2 there were smallarmy camps(forts) Army telegraph stations and in various parts of Alaska. I would suggest that you try US Army record collections that the National Archives have. If you had a better idea of where he was stationed, it would help nail down where to look. He might be found through the State of Alaska death records through the Department of Vital Statistics in Juneau, Alaska. As for military burial sites, I would try the one in Sitka and the one at Fort Richardson just north of Anchorage. These are the only military cemetaries in Alaska I know of. Then there are military sections to the cemetaries in the larger towns and cities in Alaska. Post, if you have not already, messages on the AKGENWEB message board.
