I am looking for information on Sarah and Henry Hollis. Sarah was Choctaw Indian, born in 1830 but taken from her parents by a Hollis family who moved from South Carolina to Alabama in the early to mid 1800s.
Sarah wed Henry Hollis (He was born 1783 in South Carolina as a slave to the Hollis family) in Alabama in the year 1850. Eventually they relocated to Mississippi and had several children including Matilda, Hannah, Sissey, Fannie, K.D., Moses, and Mose. There are possibly 2 more but I don't currently have their names.
Is it possible that you may have come by any of these names in your research? Keep in mind that Sarah was full blood Native American and Henry had a full blood NA mother and a slave father. It is very possible that the Hollis family had a larger number of Native American enslaved than actual AAs.
Any help/hints/ANYTHING that you may have that could aid me in furthering my research would be beyond appreciated. Thanks for taking time to read my email and I wish you much success in your ancestry search! Godspeed...
