IVY CREEKPRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH & CEMETERY Township 8,Range 17,Section 4, 1 mile east on county road 9, off county road 77 from Highway 10.The Church was consituted Jan 14 1829,(23) members at that time it was Butler County.A small building constructed and it was used for a school and church.July 23 1859 Ivey Creek Church purchased 2 acres of land for one dollar from Elizabeth Ganey.George J Staggers signed the deed.The New Church was finished in 1861.Which was Butler County at this time.Aug 10 1867 Ivey Creek donated the old house to the city of Rutledge for a school house.
SWEETWATER PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH & CEMETERY Township 10,Range 17,Section 21,on county road 17 north off road 50.Sweetwater church was constitued 1827. (Butler Couty at this time). Approx 100 years ago a plot of land east of Sweetwater Creek was given to a group of people to build a church.The land was given to them by Mr Robert (Bob) Lowery. The group build and organized the Sweetwater Baptist Church on the said plot. Build on a hillside.The church moved to its present site in late 1880's. In 1919 the church was destroyed by fire
NEW PROVIDENCE PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH & CEMETERY Township 8,Range 19,Section 18, located west of Glenwood on county road 6.The church was constitued 1833 (Pike County at this time).In 1863 the church moved to the location on land bought from Benjamin Dorman were a building was erected. Aug 1981 the church was destroyed by arson.
