For 10 years I have been researching my JACKSON family. I am a direct decendent. The earliest I have been able to find is my 3rd gr grandfather, William Jackson:
Descendants of William Jackson 1 William Jackson b: Abt. 1798 in Georgia or North Carolina .. +Mary b: Abt. 1811 in Georgia or North Carolina ........... 2 Cleton Jackson b: Mar 1833 (Or possibly 01 Sep 1826) in Possibly Chambers County, Alabama ................ +Sarah Ann Keith b: 23 Apr 1827 in South Carolina m: 24 Nov 1853 in Butler County, Alabama Father: Silas Keith Mother: Pheby ........... *2nd Wife of Cleton Jackson: ................ +Sarah Martha Morgan b: 1836 in Georgia m: 10 May 1860 in Jasper County, Texas Father: John Morgan, Mother: Hannah Kelley ........... 2 Ann Jackson b: 1835 in Alabama ........... 2 Emeline Frances Jackson b: 09 Dec 1837 in Chambers County, Alabama Burial: Estes School Cemetery in Rockport, Aransas County, Texas. ................ +Joseph Addison Barber b: 27 Oct 1824 in Opelousas, St. Landry's Parish, Louisiana d: 28 Feb 1920 in Tivoli, Refugio, Mont Belvieu Texas Burial: Refugio, Mont Belvieu Texas ........... 2 Martha Jackson b: Bet. 1839 - 1840 in Alabama ........... 2 Catharine Jackson b: 1841 in Alabama ........... 2 William Jackson b: Abt. 1848 in Alabama
So far, I have not been able to crack this case..lol. Still, I have no clues as to where William came from, nor his family or ancestry. I have just returned from a genealogical research trip to Texas, where my gr grandfather lived and died. (William's grandson) While there, all I did fiind was more information on information on William's half brother. This would be William, grandson of William, b. 1798 in GA or NC.
Yesterday, I located an Andrew E. Jackson who purchased land in Greenville and also land in Conecuh County. I am wondering if they are one and the same. ALSO if anyone would happen to have any information on any of the Jackson families who lived in Butler or Conecuh counties in the early or mid 1800's.
Does anyone know of Andrew's ancestry? I am wondering if he was a brother to William Jackson, b. abt 1798 in Georgia or NC.
Thank you all for any help you might be able to give to me on these families!
