I am looking for information on Albert Henry Watson family located in Chocatow County.
Albert Watson was born in Alabama between 1850-1860 and is believed to be of Cherokee decent. Albert was born in either Etowah, St Clair, Winston or possibly Choctaw County, AL. I did locate 2 Albert H. Watson's on the 1860 census in Etowah and Choctaw, that would be close to his age but I am not sure of his parents names. I have not located him in 1870, 1880 or 1890 AL census yet.
Albert married Margaret L. Walker in Winston County, AL in 1879.
I first locate Albert's family in 1900 in Colbert County, in both Poplar Creek and Spring Valley townships (NW Alabama). Albert puchased farm land in Poplar Creek, AL.
Albert & Margaret had 9 children. Maybe their children's or grandchildren's names will ring a bell, their names are:
1. Marion "Dolfus" (also spelled: Marian Aldophus), born Aug 1884, married Lucy Dill. 2. Minnie Sarah Elizabeth Ann, born May 1886, married Joe Hallmark in Colbert County. 3. Mattie(or Martha), born Jan 1890, married a McCormach in Colbert County, AL. 4. Alma D.(or Almer) born Mar 1892 5. Henry, born Jul 1895 6. Jesse L (middle name is Levert or Luther), born Jul 1898 7. Danie, 8. Frank, 9. Mary (middle name may have been Elizabeth), married a McBride from Colbert County.
The last time I find Albert H. is in 1920 census, living in Haleyville, Etowah County, AL. He is married to "Mary" and daughter Alma D. is living with them. His wife Margaret is thought to have died in 1919, so I am not sure if Mary is a typo for Margaret or a 2nd wife.
There is a possiblity that Albert and Margaret are buried in either Colbert County, or Etowah County, AL., but I do not know the name of the cemetery.
Their oldest son Marion "Dolfus" married Lucy Dill in Colbert County in the 1900's. They had 7 children, their names are:
Guy Levert, Luther M, John Dolfus, Hattie M, Frank M, Ethel and Elizabeth.
Marion "Dolfus" died sometime between 1920-1930 in Mark Tree, Poinsett County, AR. He and wife Lucy are thought to be buried there. Most of his children remained in Colbert County, AL. and are buried there. I am not sure why he went to Mark Tree,AR it could have been for a job or he had family there.
Any information on these individuals would be greatly appreciated.
