Louise Horton Johnston, 80, a member of Sims Chapel United Methodist Church, died July 12, 2006 at a local hospital. A native of the Winn community and a resident of McIntosh, she was a retired bookkeeper with Ciba Specialty Chemicals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gordon Johnston, son, Dwain "Butch" Hillary McDonald, father, Glover Wade Horton Sr. and brother, Glover Wade Horton Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Gwendolyn F. Horton of Winn; three daughters, Sheryl McDonald (Wilson) Smith of Mobile; Sandra Johnston (Larry) Wilson of Leroy and JoAnn Johnston (Robert) Hagood of Jackson; brother, Winston Horton of Jackson; four sisters, Jeanette Booth of Cantonment, Fla., Polly Johnson of Grove Hill, Faye Bumpers and Pam Ryser, both of Winn; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was July 15 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Interment was in Sims Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her four grandsons, Brannon Crenshaw Wilson, Adam Johnston Wilson, Kyle Condie Wilson, Robert Lee Hagood III, John Troy Phillips, Wilton Kimbrough Bailey, Johnny Mell Johnston and Josh Ryan Johnston.
