With a bit more searching I've found a note on which is written that Henry Davis died 4 January 1914 in Clay County, Alabama and the certificate of death number is 144. It seems very likely this Henry Davis is one in the same as John H. Davis; b. abt. 1840 in Talladega County, Alabama. Also see on the same note that Harrett Davis died 18 March 1914 in Clay County, Alabama. Death cert. 147. It seems almost certain this Harrett Davis is one in the same person as Elizabeth Harriet Sims; b. abt. 1844 in Chambers County, Alabama and married John H. Davis abt. 1862 in Talladega County, Alabama.
Looking through my copy of a book "Cemeteries of Clay County, Alabama" I do not find any listing for either of these people, but do find listed that some children and grandchildren are buried in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery at or near Pyriton, Clay County, Alabama. Wonder if John H. Davis and wife Elizabeth Harriet (Sims) Davis are both buried in unmarked graves in the old Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery a short distance from Delta, Clay County, Alabama??I do find a John Davis recorded in the early minutes of that old church which is no longer standing; Only the cemetery with 31 unmarked graves.
