I'd like to connect with anyone researching the NEAL, GRIFFIN or WILLINGHAM names in Fayette Co., Alabama. They all seem to be my people, I just need to figure out how they're related.
There seem to be 2 different NEAL lines in Fayette Co., during the 1800s. One is descended from George M. Neal, born in Tennessee, and the other from Green Pinkney Neal, from South Carolina. It's the George Neal family that I'm related to.
I believe that George's son Frank W. Neal (b. April 1856) married a Mary Emma Griffin (b. Feb. 1855). They had at least 7 children, one of whom was my great-grandfather, George Ira Neal (b. Feb. 1880), who married Della Willingham (b. Dec. 1888). I believe there is also some connection between the Griffiths and Willinghams, because of their proximity on the census records. There are even some Willinghams & Griffiths living in the same households.
If anyone else out there is researching these families, I'd love to swap information with you!
