Nople P. Garrison, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at the Red Bay Hospital. She was born May 16, 1923, in Franklin County, Ala., to James and Lena Bell Humphries McCalpin. She was retired from the Red Bay Nursing Home as a cook. She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.
Services were Feb. 26 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with burial in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors included five children, Janet Wright (James), Danny Garrison (Linda) and Cindy Mayo, all of Red Bay, Ala., Wanda Fitts of Russellville, Ala., and Stevie Garrison of Vina, Ala.; three brothers, Harlie McCalpin, Bobby Joe McCalpin and James McCalpin, all of Red Bay; one sister, Helen Pierce of Red Bay; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glover Garrison; a granddaughter, Belinda Long; two brothers, Kenneth McCalpin and J.P. McCalpin; and one sister, Grace Armstrong.
