John Wayman Elrod, 64, of Sheffield, Ala., died Jan. 12, 1994 at Medical Center Shoals. He was a native of Alabama and a former resident of Red Bay. He was an employee of Keeton Lumber Co. in Red Bay for 20 years. He attended the Church of God. Services were Jan. 14 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with burial in the Halltown Cemetery.
Survivors included his wife, Roberta Elrod of Sheffield; three daughters, Judy Credille of Belmont, Linda Scott and Sheila Barrett, both of Baldwyn; two sons, Davis Elrod of Red Bay and Tim Elrod of Baldwyn; two stepdaughters, Judy Turman and Vickie Howard, both of Sheffield; one stepson, Jesse Pierce of Barnwell, S.C.; five sisters, Bobbie Rogers of Tremont, Barbara Sue Scott of Golden, Betty Jo Bulluck and Ruth McGough, both of Vina, Ala., and Bonnie Garrison of Shottsville; two brothers, James E. "Pete" Elrod of Golden and Willie Albert Elrod of Mooreville; 13 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 13 stepgrandchildren.
