I'm looking for Ada Spivey who married David Gerome Williams and lived in Beaver Dam, Geneva Co., AL, in the 1910 and 1920 US Census. She was born about 1881 in Georgia and had four known children: Jerline, Murtie M. Junior Wayman (?) and Millard E. I am hoping someone on the list will know this family and send me a message at email@example.com Many thanks.
In the process of looking for Ada, I extracted all the Georgia-related Spivey files from the Guion Miller Roll of Eastern Cherokee and noticed three of the applicants were a lineage that claimed descent from Robinsons of Cherokee County, NC.
Julius Spivey b. NC married Cordelia Robinson, daughter of John Robinson and Lucindy Leatherwood of Cherokee Co., NC. Applicants included three siblings who were children of Julius and Cordelia:
1. Wm. A. Spivey (32177) b. 29 Jan 1865 Clay Co., NC, who married Lizzie and had children: John, Nick, Ben, Blanch, Ora, Zora, Clint, Nora and Jim (1887 to 1903); and were all living in Spring Place, Murry Co., GA, in 1906.
2. Sibyl Noles (32060) b. 29 Apr 1881 Murry Co., GA, m. Oscar Noles (deceased) and had one child, Sarah, b. 12-21-1905 (parents and residence same as Wm., above)
3. Lilly Spence (32175) b. 24 Jul 1886 in Murry Co., GA, m. Henry Spence and had dau, Mattie Spence, age 2 (ditto Sibyl).
The fourth application (34512) was for Pauline Spivey b. 17 Jun 1876 in Pensacola FL or AL who married Jay M. Golson; her parents were George Spivey and Petronella Lopes (?). George's parents were Wm. Spivey and Pauline Wilkins; Pauline Wilkins parents were Charles Wilkins and a Miss Hollinger, of Blakely, Baldwin Co., AL. Pauline Wilkins had a sister named Merca.
George Spivey had siblings: William and Josephine. I did census work on this family and saw George was born about 1850 in Pensacola or AL. George d. about 1890 and Petronella d. about 1886.
I hope this helps someone. If you want copies of the original applications, please write and I will share them. KD
