The records I am working from differ a bit from what you have given me, but I'm not surprised; I have found several inaccuracies. I don't know who compiled the records I have. This was part of Dad's estate and I wasn't even aware of it until a couple of months ago. My records show that Lewis W. Nordan married Rhoda Elizabeth Odom Ayres on July 18, 1865 and William Irvin Nordan married Tempy Elizabeth (Tilda) Gray on December 28, 1859. What are your sources? I have none at the moment and haven't had time to confirm any of this. I also have nothing whatsoever on William and Sarah Hayes Nordan. Is William a child of Thomas and Elizabeth or possibly a nephew? He is unknown to me. I was aware that David was a landholder in Henry Co. My records showthat he had a well established general store by 1845 and by 1855 had added a blacksmith shop. He also bought four tracts of land in 1856. According to the 1850 census he owned a fifty year old male slave, so this may explain the Black Nordans that you found. That seems reasonable to me. Apparently he also sold a slave to his brother-in-law, Patrick Cassidy in Henry Co. in 1835.
