Follow up and additonal information.Gemima and Elizabeth are now thought to be descendants of Thomas G. Wood found on the 1850 Russell County, Al. Census Searching for descandants of Thomas G. Wood, b. 1800 N.C.Not sure how many children he had but he had at least two wives.
He is found on the 1850 Russell Co., Al. census with second wife Zilpha, age 30, his age is shown as 50b. N.C. In the house is daughter Josephine, age15, b. Miss.?? This seems to indicate that he lived in Mississippi for a time.
He is found again on the 1860 Russel Co., Al. cenus (Josephine is out ofhouse, probably married). He is found on the 1870 census of Macon Co., Al.(Tuskagee Dist) His age is 70 and he is a Merchant.Wife Zilpha is with him age 50 b. GA.
The 1880 census of Macon Co., Al. shows only his wife Zilpha, age 60 b. Ga.She is called "Merchant" and living next door to J. L. Carmichael, age 64, wife Jane, age 60.She is not living near step-daughters Josephine, Gemima, or Elizabeth.
