Frederick Hamilton Kennedy, according to his CSA records, was born in St. John's parish, Charleston, SouthCarolina. His mother (according to descendant Barbara Perdue Middleton's research) was Mary Kennedy (Kenedy) who was counted in the 1840 Lowndes Co., AL census. Barbara would really like to find out the name of Frederick's father, too.
By 1850, Mary Kennedy's name is gone from the Lowndes Co. census; Frederick has married Martha McBride and they have several children:
1850 census - Lowndes Co., AL. Family #21, p. 104b:
Frederic Kennedy 26 (born abt 1824) South Carolina Martha Kennedy 24 SC Sarah J. Kennedy 6 Ala William L. Kennedy 4 Ala James W. Kennedy 3 Ala Mary Kennedy 11/12 Ala
How did you begin to look for any connection of Frederick H. Kennedy of Lowndes County, Alabama, with "Alexander Kennedy born 1735-1738 Ireland. Alexander lived in NC for a short time, Married Mary Tandy Thomas in MD, and then signed up for the Revolutionary War after he moved to Pennsylvania"??
Glad to share research notes on any of these families.
