I am sorry Glenda, I want to thank you for the response. I have been working on ancestors in Fayette County also. That was my mistake. Sarah was living in her father's household in Maringo County, AL in 1850. At that time she was single, but according to the 1860 Census, she was living (still) in her father's household, but they were in Bowie County, Texas, and her name was then Sarah Aldridge, still listed as daughter, and just below her was William Aldridge and John Aldridge, both listed as grandsons,, both born in Alabama. Therefore, I have to assume that the father was named Aldridge, and they must have gotten married in Alabama, then something happened to the father between marriage and the 1860 Census.
