MOFFETT E. PEACOCK, daughter of Michael & Mary Peacock, was born February 1839 at the Moses Garrison/Michael Peacock plantation in Montgomery, Alabama).She married (1) Mr. Taylor by 1857 (2) Willis Roberts in Feb. 1870 (in Mobile). She had three daughters: 1. Catherine "Kate" E. Taylor (b. 1857) married (1) Harry A. Woodhull married (2) Thornton M. Goodloe 2. Lillian "Lillie" F. Taylor (b. June 1861) 3. Joel A. Roberts (named after her grandfather, born December 21, 1873 - March 6, 1916), married Lee J. Ninde of Ft. Wayne, Indiana
I'm looking at an obit from Thursday, November 24, 1921, Ft. WayneNews Sentinal (p. 7, col 2):
"Roberts. "Word was received here last evening of the death at the home of her daughter, Miss Lily Taylor, at 422 North Talafox (sic)(Palafox?) Street, Pensacola, Fla., of Mrs. Willis Roberts, mother of Mrs. Lee J. Ninde, who died several years ago.Mrs. Roberts, prior to the death of her daughter, Mrs. Ninde, spent the summers in this city and had a wide circle of friends here.She was in the eighty-third year of her age and was in excellent health.She was born on a plantation which is now a part of the city of Montgomery, Ala., and spent the major portion of her life in that state.Her husband preceded her in death some four years.She is survived by two daughters, Miss Lily Taylor and Mrs. Katy Goodloe.Mrs. Roberts was an exceptionally intelligent and cultured woman and her friends in Fort Wayne will be pained to learn of her demise."
