I am looking for any MOORE records (estate/will/inventory)who may have mention of a slave named Silas or Jackson and/or both together between 1850-1867 Perry County, Al. Am researching parentage of ggg-grandfather Silas MOORE, age 19 born 1851-2 Al, located in 1870 census of Marion, Perry County. Silas was HOH, others in household included in order: Millie 20, Winnie 10, Emmas 08 and Wesley 21. It would seem, given the ages, that these were all siblings. Sometime around 1874 Silas moved to Jasper County, Georgia where he married. Their first son born 1876 was named Jackson and if true to common costum he may have been named for Silas' father. The second child born was named Julia (Aka Clara and Julia C.) and therefore the possible name of Silas' mother? I know there were several owners by the name MOORE in Perry Co. (Gov. Andrew Berry (A.B.) MOORE among others), but should you ever come across anything in your research please contact me.
