On Sept. 22nd, 2001, the descendants of A.B. Mayfield, b. 1781, NC, d. 1849, Monroe Co., MS, gather at this grave in the Masonic Cemtery in Amory, Monroe, MS to dedicate a War of 1812 marker to note his service in that war. That marker was stolen from his grave just a few short weeks later. It is my hope to make as many people as possible aware of this! Where better to do this than inside a genealogy community who cares and would help us recover the marker, if possible. If anyone runs across such at a "flea market", dealer, scrap place that deals in bronze, advertisement, etc., please contact me, a Monroe County, MS authority, "The Amory Advertiser", E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, or anyone with the J. A. Mayfield Masonic Lodge in Amory, MS.
All assistance in this matter is appreciated! Thank you Gracie Mayfield Morlino Rt. 2, Box 162D Carrollton, MS 38917
Other surnames associated with family are WIYGUL, LOWRANCE, FLYNN, CRUMP, WILSON, TRIMMER, BICKERSTAFF, ALLISON, SISK, CONWILL, GREEN, and many more.
