The 1910 Census lists Jesse C. Hazelwood with wife, Alma, and son, A. J. living in Moody in St. Clair County, Alabama.
In 1920, The family is still in Moody with children listed as Willie (age is correct for this to be A.J. on the 1910 census, so this must be a nickname,)Jewel, and Louise.
In 1930, Jesse is back with his parents in St. Clair County and Alma and daughters, Jewel, Louise, and Inez are living in Birmingham.
It is my understanding that Willie (A. J.) wanted to work in the coal mine and his father approved, but his mother did not. When he was killed, Alma would no longer live with Jesse--so that explains whey he is in St. Clair and she in Birmingham. The Alabama death index lists Willie Hazelwood's death in 1925 in Shelby County, Alabama.Does anyone have any information on coal mining accidents in Shelby County in 1925?Any bit of information on this family will be appreciated.
