I am searching for the father of my great grandfather, Henry Williams.
I have found him in the 1930 and 1940 census in the household with his mother as the head. Here are the census:

I cannot locate him in the 1920 Census.
I know he served in World War II. He married Laura Bender an had two sons, Henry Glenn and William Phillip. I cannot find a marriage certificate for them. They divorced in 1955 and he died in 1972 in Cuba, Sumter, Alabama. My father told me this.
I don't know anything beyond all of this however. I am the first in my family to do research on my Williams line. I hate to say it, but I'm getting frustrated. I can't find anything new. Also I'm a college student so I'm not in a position to pay for the full package on Ancestry or any other site that cost money.
I said all that to say could someone please tell me anything on White Williams families in Sumter around this time period (1920s,30s,40s) if possible.
