On 1930 Walker Co., AL census were James H. Steward, age 48 and wife, Nora, age 38 children: Ruth, age 19; Cora, age 16, Velma, age 13, John C. age 11, Melvin age 9 Arthur, age 7, Evelyn, age 3 yr. 1 month. Seems like Melvin may have been born 5/18/1921 and died 2/19/1999.Also had son named Lester on 1910 census, 1 year 9 months.(On 1910 and 1920 census in Cullman Co., AL).James H. Stewart had brothers, David M. Stuart (b. 1/1883, died 9/1920) and Charles A. Stuart b. 5/1885 and Wiley A. Stuart b. 1/1889.Seeking descendants of any of this family.I believe that the parents of James H. Stuart was James M. Stuart and his wife, Ruth E. Stricklin.I think that this James M. Stuart born 6/26/1855 in Saline Co., ARK (d. 12/25/1925 in Cullman Co., AL) was the son of a James M. Stuart b. 1822-1825 in GA.I'm very curious about this family because James M. Stewart/Stuart Sr. named one of his sons John R. Stuart and another on Peyton W. Stuart (brothers to James M. Stuart b. 1855).I am wondering if this James M. Stuart Sr. (b. 1825) may have been a son of Nancy Peyton Stuart Johnson, daughter of Thomas Peyton (my husband's ancestor)....so looking for distant cousins then perhaps.
