Grady Hallman's wife was Nora Vane Barnett (b:1896-d:1987) daughter of Lewis Barnett b:1852 and Sophia Elizabeth Smith b:1856.
According to an article printed in the Jasper Advertiser Mr. Hallman died of a gun shot wound and was buried at Shady Grove Cemetery near Phil Campbell with Nichols Funeral Home handling the interment.
Grady Hallman was survived by his wife and 4 sons, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters."Wash" (James Washington) Hallman and his wife, Alice, were Grady's parents. They are buried at Shady Grove. The 1900 census reported that Alice had borne 7 children, 4 were living. The 1910 census lists 10 children with 7 living. The youngest child is Ada.
Lewis (Luke) and Sophia Elizabeth Barnett are my great-grandparents.They are buried with Nora's sister, Sibbie, and her brothers Joroyal and Alonzo (my grandfather) at Bethel Church Cemetery, Delmar, Winston County, AL.Nora was the youngest child of 9.
I didn't know that Wash Hallman's wife, Alice, was a Bishop but it doesn't surprise me because Wm R Bishop is next door on the 1900 Franklin County Census. The 1930 Itawamdba, MS census is interesting because it list Washington (father) and Alice C (mother) with Perry Jand Dora (wife) Hallmon as residents of Itawamba County but the transription of the headstone at Shady Grove for Alice K Hallman, wife of JW, lists the daye of death as Sept 11, 1929.James W Hallman's date of death is transcribed as May 15, 1949.I've never found a transcription of a headstone for Grady Hallman.
If you'll let me know what you need I may more information from my Barnett cousins in files than my primary database.
