As the sun began to rise on the beautiful Spring day of April 1, 2009, Ruth Ann Scarborough, peacefully entered into rest at the age of 91 years. Ruth was born in Bentonville, Arkansas on August 16, 1917 to Lillie and William Clarance Hammack. Her husband, Robert G. Scarborough and daughter Connie S. Burton preceded her in death. Her immediate family consisted of Dottie Altman, spouse Elliot, Betty Pacheco, spouse Nelson, Mike Burton loving husband of Connie, Robert Scarborough III, Randy Scarborough, spouse Michelle. Ruth is also survived by loving grandchildren Tracye, Spencer, Pam, spouse Gary, Viki, spouse Bryant, Dana, spouse Joe, Nelson, spouse Lori, Daniel, spouse Kendall, Andrea, spouse Dana, Justin, spouse Sharon, Kevin, spouse Amber. In addition her life was filled with love from her great grandchildren Ryan, Ryley, Leslie, Joseph, Sarah Margaret, Max, Sage, Lauren, Elena and Taylor. She is also survived by her sister Carol and nieces Delores, Katie, Eddie, Carolyn, Jackie, Curtis and Donna. Ruth will be missed by many dear friends who knew and loved her. Thank you for everything Kay. Ruth was active in both the First Baptist Church and at Shearer Hills Baptist Church of San Antonio with Reverend J. Dowell Loftis officiating. Ruth always wanted her flowers while she was alive, so in lieu of flowers please send a donation to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held on Monday April 6, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday April 7, 2009 at 12 pm with graveside services at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.
