Rayedene, What a fantastic bit of information.I believe you are right. These really look like the correct ones.I had been told that one of the brothers (Clee or Lee) died long before the other, but didn't know which. That fits perfectly.
When you listed Graves, Sarah A. "Aunt Shade" (KEETON)02/01/1868 - 12/13/1942 (Wife of John C.)...Is the John C. correct? ...When I first read the info, I thought she was the wife of the John W. above, but it appears there was a 20 years difference in John W. and Sarah.
I'm trying to figure out who might have been father of Frances Clee and Hendrix Lee (Lee is 4 yrs younger than my father and Clee is 6 years younger)... appears John W. is the likely one.The John C. Graves could have been another son of John W. I suppose, and he could be their father.. and I guess Sarah could have been their mother.she would have been about 18 when the oldest was born.
Now I'm wondering about the relationship to my father. (his mother was Susen Alice Graves (1864) and her father William L. Graves abt 1820/30)...If they were first cousins, of my father as I had thought, Clee and Lee would have to have been sons of Susen Alice Graves brother Charles (1854).If John W. was father to Clee and Lee, then he could be a younger brother of William L. Graves (father of Susen Alice). That would make them first cousins once removed. If John W. was father of John C. and John C. the father of Clee and Lee, then they would be second cousins to my father.
Just trying to think out loud.
I really appreciate this information.I'm sure the Clee and Lee are the right ones.Maybe I can find out more about them from WW I records.Keep your eyes open for a death place for John C. Graves will you.If you have any suggestions for locating further information on any of them, kindly tell me.
This gives me a lot of avenues to search now.Thank you so very very much.
