"My Grandfather Blankenship entered the newspaper business first in Maynard, in partnership with his brothers-in-law, Rufe and Dave Lindsey.Rufe Lindsey became editor of the Maynard newspaper, The Northeast AR Enterprise, and my grandfather and Dave Lindsey moved with their families to Pocahontas, where, in 1902, they purchased and merged the Pocahontas Star and the Randolph Herald to create the Pocahontas Star Herald."
Further on, she says:
"Grandpa Blankenship, I am sure, became involved in journalism following the lead of the Lindsey brothers, who always enjoyed writing.
