Okay here is the best way I can explain this. Now I am a Truck Driver so I am going to use a todays Map and Interstates and Highways. I am going to try to use Towns to box in each township.
Let start with Johnson Township. Created before 1836
Take Interstate 40 and go west from Tennessee to exit 247 on the north side of the interstate to the Cross County line go west to Arkansas Highway 284 and back south to Interstate 40. So that is the square.
Now town's and places know in that square are: Clarks Corner, New Castle, Crowley Ridge.
L'Anguille Township. Created in 1842 - Part annexed to Parairie Township bewteen 1870-1880
Take Interstate 40 west from exit 247 to exit 233 it is mostly on the north side of the interstate but about 1 mile on the south side or the interstate is included in this township. Go north to the county line and then west to the county line should be about Highway 49 the go south to Highway 70 east to highway 261 north to Interstate 40. That should be the square.
Now towns in this township are: Palestine, Wheatly, Pine tree
