I am looking for information about the McCan/McCann families that lived in Searcy County in the 1800s.Ceusus reports show McCan families living in the Richland Township, Point Peter Post Office, in the 1870s through 1899 and beyond.Other McCan families lived in the Tommahawk Township before the Civil War.
My great grandfather was Jasper N. McCan, born in 1852.He married a second time in 1888 to Lou Ferguson, born circa 1866-67.Both lived in Calf Creek Township at the time of their marriage, and were married by a Justice of the Peace.
Jasper McCan paid taxes on land in the Richland Township in 1890.Jasper and his family left Searcy County in 1899.
Jasper had eleven children and two marriages.
Any information about the McCan families living in Searcy County in the 1800s would be appreciated.
