I tried to e-mail you directly, but it didn't go thru.
I will do some more looking for you when I have time. I live in Oklahoma City and our historical society(especially the Indian Territory division) is really good to help. They may have something to search that I don't know abt. You might try contacting them....they are on-line.
My family was originally from Jefferson Co., TN.I know that there were some Satterfield's up that way too. That doesn't help you much, except that sometimes folks traveled in groups with people that they knew.
All my TRAVIS men fought in the Civil War and most got land grants. Two wound up in ARK.One lived and died around Alma Ark.,the other went South into Sevier County, in the Red Colony area.(I think that's what caught my eye about your post.)They traveled quite a path up and down the State.Contrary to the other posting....I did find a Red Colony Twnsp., clear up thru 1920 so far.I think when I called the historical society in ARK. they told me that there used to be a Red Colony Twnsp. in what is now near the town of Lockesburg. Several of this line of my family moved into McCurtian County and some on south into Texarkana, Bowie Co, TX.I have a subscription to Ancestry.com, so I'll do a bit more searching for you and let you know if I find anything interesting.
