Ireaped a benefit from your information. Thank you. A recent letter made available to me proves that James Harder, Henry's father was the son of James Harder, the Primitive Baptist Pastor, pioneer-farmer, husband of Elizabeth Pitt, and father of John N P Harder, Henrietta Harder Lindsey, Zilphy Harder Mackey Rice, Mary "Polly" Harder Job, and Elizabeth Harder Evans. The letter was written by James Harder, Henry's father, to his sister Elizabeth Evans, her husband David Evans and James' and Elizabeth's mother, Elizabeth Pitt Harder, who was apparently living in the Evans home at that time. The letter, written in 1862 discusses the war, the Pea Ridge battle specifically, his feelings on the war and his two oldest sons participation in it. James and family were living in Sevier County, Ark. and the Evans were, as always, living in Itawamba Co in the Guntown area. David is buried there in Campbellton cemetery. Elizabeth Evans moved on to Texas after David's death and finally on to Rush Springs, OK where she died.
Would appreciate having Laura's death certificate. Can you scan and email it to me if I provide you to address? Would like to know the circumstances of Henry and Joseph's having lived and died in Pakistan.
