George Washington's father was Haley McPike son of "Capt. James McPike and Martha Mountain.
Haley married a "miss" Shaw
"miss" Shaw's mother and father were William Shaw and Thursey Stimpson married in Massachusetts Nov. 28, 1799
Thursey Stimpson b. 1775 in Mass and is daughter of Stephen Stimpson and Mariah Lawrence (married Pepperell, Mass. at Littleton May 28, 1772)
known children of William and Thursey;
"miss" Shaw, Adoniram Shaw, John L. or S. Shaw, Mariah Shaw and Louisa Shaw.These children are believed to have been born in Otsego Co., New York. (Louisa married Nicholas Counts in Missouri.) I believe Adoniram and John Shaw died in Law. or Sharp County Arkansas
On the East Family side I have
John East's father is Shadrach East of Laurens County, S.C.His mother is Jensey or Jane (Warren?)
John Van Buren East married to Martha Jane Alexander Sept. 30, 1855 (my great great grandparents)I think John was born in Giles Co. Tennessee about 1839.He died in Black Rock, Law. Co. AR Feb. 24, 1874
I believe they had 7 children;
Harriet Eliz., William M., Nancy C., James S., Jensey Jane, Roxanna, Emma
I don't know much of Martha's parents ... only her father's name is James F. Alexander and her mother is Nancy.I think from Tennessee. I also think Martha hadbrothers named Pleasent and William Manson Alexander.I'd appreciate any help with the Alexander branch as well.
If anyone can add or correct any info. I have here your comments and suggestions are welcome.My research in Lawrence and Sharp Counties include the families of Anderson, Alexander,East, Fortenberry, Ghormley, Mayo, McPike, Street, Shaw, Stimpson, any other families connected to these surnames.Thanks for any help and please keep in touch.
