"Gibson, Wm. - Notice is hereby given that by general consent of all the heirs of the lat Wm. Gibson, I will on the 17th day of October, 1887 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the premises, sell to highest bidder for cash to hand the following lands being to the estate of said Wm. Gibson and situate in Washingon Co., Ark., to-wit: the SW 1/4 Section 15, thw SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec. 15, W 1/2 SE 1/4 sec 15 and the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 sec. 22, all in the twp 16 n of 4 33 w, containing 320 acres in all.Said land will be sold for the purpose of division among the heirs and the title will be perfect.The above land is in the western part of Washington county in a good neighborhood.Over 100 acres in cultivation, good dwelling and outhouses, good spring, with water running through the land.It is a valuable stock farm.John Gibson, Aug. 12, 1887. Not exactly an obit, but maybe you can get his probate from the Washington County, County Clerk.It could contain more info you are looking for.
There are several Gibson's listed in the books if you want to try other given names.Let me know.
