I, too, just returned from Washington County, AR doing research. At the Washington County Library, Fayetteville Branch, Genealogy Room they have a collection of 13 "books".Each of these books contain readings of 7-10 cemeteries in Washington County. Each book contains different cemeteries. Each cemetery listing is preceded by directions to where the cemetery is.Each book has an index that lists all the surnames found in that book. In addition, there is one book of maps that shows the locations of all the cemeteries. This is very important as often the directions are not enough to find the cemetery. In addition, the cemeteries have a board that "controls" the cemetery. Some one on the board should have the interment list or map.We found that several cemeteries had the list of board members posted with an address for donations.
In your situation I would call the closest town administrator and ask who might be able to give you information about that particular cemetery.I visited the Van Buren and West Fork Administration Buildings and was able to get a name for someone in both areas. Using both the library and Clerk/Recorder I was able to locate 11 headstones in 4 cemeteries. However, I was still missing 2!
Good Luck!If I can be of any more help just let me know!
