I agree with your reasoning that David Lowe was most likely born in Jefferson County, Ohio. If you start a new thread about that you'll want to craft a well organized query. Omit any information that is not immediately relevant. Post each record for David (marriage, census, military, death, any other) that shows an approximate date of birth and approximate place of birth. I hope you don't mind my (seemingly endless) advice. It is sometimes best to leave one's own opinion out of it - let the records speak for themselves. At the end you can add an analysis, using your opinion. For example, the records below seem to say he may have been born in Jefferson County, Ohio (or if not, then in Richland County). On a military record I think he says Greene County, Ohio? Is that right? So in your analysis you could point out that he lived in Greene County, Wisconsin as a small child. This could maybe (?) explain why he's saying Greene county.
Use your Ancestry.com subscription first to revisit the census records below and post a more full description of each record. For example, how many people live with Wm Lowe in each year? People in the household are not named - but they are counted.
Okay, that's it - I know you are off today - good luck. :D
