I'm researching the family on my father’s side of the family and have hit several road blocks.I’ve steadily, but very-very slowly, been gaining more information
The start: John Adams married a Mary Tierney in England, Pa or NY between 1870 and 1880.Family stories have him going to England and returning with her. There is also a hunch that John was from Northern Ireland.Mary we know was from Inishbofin, Co. Galway.
They had at least 3 male offspring and one daughter. The boys were born in Pennsylvannia and the daughter was born in California. All 3 boys died in California, we don't know where the daughter died, or when John died.
According to the 1920 census what remained of the family; Mary, the mother John Jr. (son) and his wife Richard Peter (son) Margaret (daughter) and her 2 daughters lived on McKinley Avenue in Berkeley
Does anyone know what the local paper would have been in Berkeley at or around that time? What undertakers were in the area?
