SENT to the ASYLUM -- Abraham SIMMONS, the volunteer belonging to Company K, 1st Cavalry, who was brought to this city from Camp Stanford on Tuesday evening, as insane, was yesterday admitted to the Insane Asylum, he having been taken before the County Judge and examined as to his sanity by Drs. CLARK and THORNDIKE. SIMMONS was in such condition as required that irons should be placed upon him while being conveyed from the jail to the office of County Judge, thence to the Asylum. The jailor, on Tuesday night, while passing some water to him through his open cell-door, was attacked by the lunatic and nearly overpowered, succeeding in forcing him into his cell with the utmost difficulty and coming out of the tussel with a disordered wardrobe. SIMMONS, during the attack, was entirely nude, positively refusing to allow any description of clothing upon his person.
