Just wanted to let you know that sometimes there is no obituary for an individual--anywhere. In 1996 when my dad passed away and he was buried in Lower Lake Cemetery, CA my brother and I wanted to have an obituary printed for Dad but we decided against it.
One reason was that Dad had told me many times who to contact after his death (my mom had died many years earlier.)The second reason was that each newspaper we contacted wanted to charge too much for even a short obit. It would have cost us too much money for his obit to appear in several newspapers. When I returned home, I composed a very short letter which included a little bit about Dad's life during the previous 10 years. I thanked each person for being a part of his life.At the time of Dad's death, I didn't really think about anyone down the line wanting to look for his obituary.
Thought this might help other people who are searching specific obituaries and can't find them.
