Bennie Miles Suggs, 70, passed away on Feb. 3 at his home in Tehachapi. He was born on Jan. 7, 1936 in Vandenberg, Ark. to Charles and Eula Suggs.
Bennie served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He moved to Tehachapi in 1978 and was employed as a truck driver for 20 years before his retirement.
Bennie loved to go camping and hunting. In his younger years, he never missed a deer season. Bennie enjoyed listening to his old country and western music from “The Wings of a Show White Dove” to “He Stopped Loving Her.” He loved watching baseball, John Wayne movies, westerns, old war movies and barbequing.
Most of all, Bennie loved his mountain home. Here is where he lived and here is where he wanted to die. He so very much loved Tehachapi.
