7/12/1950- abstracted- Neil Welty Marikle, 47, shot and killed himself early today (July 11) in the backyard of his estranged wife at 320 S. Kalmia St. He was a machinist and a member of the Elks Club. He had recently left the home and was living with a relative. He shot himself in the right temple with a rifle. A suicide note was found.
9/21/1902 John Marikle of Escondido is the proud parent of a 7 1/2 pound baby boy which was born last Saturday.
6/22/1937 abstracted John C. Marikle, 62, prominent pioneer, died early today of heart disease at his residence, 143 E. Fifth St. He came to Escondido in 1887 and was an automobile upholsterer. He was a Mason. Survivors, wife Ada; mother, Anna; son Neil, and brother Frank, all of Escondido; daughter, Mrs. Meda Deal, Bakersfield.
5/25/1941 abstracted Mrs. Anna P. Marikle-- May 24th-- Died Thursday night, age 83 (sic), interment in Oak Hill Mem Park. Came to Escondido in 1888 with her husband the late DeForest Marikle, a Civil War veteran. She was active in the Women's Relief, an auxillary of the G. A. R.

10/3/1906--Last Friday evening a fire broke out in the apiary of D. F. Marikle, which is near Bernadino, and it destroyed 40 lots of bees, his house, and a lot of bee material. The loss is between $200 and $300.

David Welty a native of PA, Mrs. Welty IA. Married in Humboldt, Allen Cty, KS 10/6/1870. Removed to Texas in 1873 and lived in a tent in Dennison. Came to Escondido in 1890, where they have lived except for a short residence in Los Angeles. Mr. Welty is a painter, decorator, and rancher. Mr. Welty has 3 children by a previous marriage, Owen L. Welty of Escondido, Mrs. C. W. Litsinger of Los Angeles and Mrs. Elsie Darrow of Chicago. By his second wife he has three children- Mrs. Charles W. Stearns, Mrs. J. D. Reece, and Mrs. John C. Merikle, all of Escondido.

9/20/1942- Edward Marikle, son of Mrs. Nellie Jett, of Escondido, has enlisted in the Navy. His brother, Arthur, has been in the navy six years and is a chief quartermaster in Philadelphia.

Litsinger, Parsons, KS; O L Welty, Mrs. J. B. Reece, Mrs. J. C. Merikle, Escondido; Mrs. Charles W. Stearsn, Reseda, CA. Mr. Welty born in Lingonier Valley, Westmoreland, PA, moved to Ohio at age 2, lived there until after the Civil War. Family came to San Diego in 1891 and Escondido two years later.
11/28/1964 Mrs. Ada Rockwood abstracted
82 years old, lived in San Diego County 74 years. Born in Texas, came to California in 1890 from Dennison. Survivors, Mrs. Meta Deal, of Escondido, 4 grands, 4 great-grands
10/29/1923 Irene A. Kipling weds Victor M. Kimball. Bridesmaid Miss Clara Hill of Hollywood, cousin of the bride, d of M/M John Hill; Irene is the daughter of Mrs. C. W. Stearns. Irene attended schools in Escondido until her family moved to Owensmouth and later Reseda. Mr. Kimball is an electrician in Van Nuys, where they will live.
