Select the state you live in. From there, select the chapter closest to your town (there might even be a chapter in the town you live for we have many, many chapters).
OK...you're half way there. Now....contact that chapter...asking for their Registrar.Tell that registrar about your ancestors being in the DAR Patriot Index.Ask her to send away for your ancestor's application ( someone had to write it up in order to become a DAR member..probably a "cousin of yours")..there will be a minimum fee.
Once you get that application...it will probably tell you the town and much much more information about your ancestor.
You'll discover you too are eligible tobecome a Daughters of the American Revolution member...
Good luck.P.S. Another possibility is go to your local Family History Center (Morman) and use their Family Search disk on their computer.It lists family genealogies (lineage charts) that people have put in....and the address of the persons who put them in...which you can contact.
