My grandparents Karl & Katherina Schneider (I have seen various spellings of both names with "C's" and my grandmother called Kate, Katie, Catherine, Katterina, etc.) were born in Russia moved to Goodrich ND and then retired to Lodi, CA with their youngest daughter Dena (Schneider) Knowles (wife of Bill Knowles a Case farm machinery company salesman), and Karl & Katherina's youngest son Raymond Schneider a carpenter (his first wife Katherine ran a beauty parlor for a while-their children were Earl & Susan). My grandfather Karl was born in Neuburg Russia and my Grandmother Katherina Bittermann was born in Eigenfeld Russia (according to my dad's birth certificate).
I have tried the Woodbridge Cemetery on-line listing and talked to folks at the Lodi Memorial Cemetery (they have a Katherina & Fredrick G. Schneider, but the names, and birth dates and death dates don't match what I know about my grandparents).
I have also contacted two Lutheran churches in Lodi, but they are busy and the records would be old. My grandfather was burried in 1953 and my grandmother was buried in the mid to late 1960's.
I am trying to get sufficent information to be able to get copies of death certificates for both of them. Would there be a funeral home or other cemetery that may have been the main one used by Lutheran Germans from Russia in this timeframe that might be able to help me? Do you know which cemetery they are buried in?
