Question: On your first post to me, regarding William Graham (the husband of Emilie and father of Donald): You mentioned the census (1900 Calif, Napa County, Salvador Township, Page 57) being difficult to read.
Is there any chance at all that it (or whichever one you were reading for that) might not actually say "Canada" for this William's birth? That's really got me stumped. I've been ransacking notes and papers and even put in a phonecall to another amateur genealogy friend who has tried to help me with this bunch. "Canada" just doesn't seem to fit with how the rest of the picture seems to be coming together. I have thought for sure he's going to turn out to be born in New York, and the only "second remote possibility" I was ready for was the state of Washington.
Any way we can tweak the census taker's handwriting there?
