Thanks you for posting the obit of Williams mother.I had her death date but not the obit.I do have a copy of George Diehl's obit.Another researcher was kind in sending me a copy.

George Diehl, an aged Civil War Veteran, passed away at the Veterans' Home in Yountville yesterday and his remains were brought to McDonald's undertakingparlors in this city today.No funeral arrangements have been made as yet.

Hayward Daily Review, March 21, 1940, Page 6 William Diehl Is Laid To Rest William Diehl, 72, of Hayward, died in Oakland early this week.He had been ill for some time.Mr. Diehl is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Diehl, a son, William M. Diehl and a daughter, Mrs. Archie Herndon.
A native of Pennsylvania, he had lived here for about 50 years. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at the Garden Chapel of the Pratt mortuary.
The Rev. Godfrey Matthews of the Eden Congregation church is in charge of the services. Cremation followed.
