Dorri, today while organizing much of my genealogy stuff, I came across the print out of your 11/9/00 messsage and I do appreciate the extra time you spent. George was born 5/1/1857.I checked the death index for George R.'s wife Alice and I came up with her maiden name being Silverthorn rather than Silverstone. She was born 8/28/1858 in Wisconsin, which now gives me another Wisconsin lead since I have not come up with any leads for George's father or even the county, George was born in. I also still have not found George's mother's parents. (It gets rather frustrating when one hits such a brickwall). I have checked the two most likely with no success and a local Wisconsin person also did some checking for me. Alice died 3/17/1841, 4 days after her husband died. She was 82 years of age and he was 83 years of age.Their son George A. was born 5/10/1883 in California and he died 10/24/1968 in Sonoma at 85 years of age.I checked the death index for Daisy L. Harrison, and came up with two possibilities: one born 12/03/1879 in Caifornia and died 3/6/1970 in Los Altos, Santa Clara CA and Daisy L. Harrison b. 2/17/1901 and died 12/26/1960 (59 years of age). There is also a Daisy Harrison (no middle initial) who was born 7/24/1885 and died 1969 in Sunland, LA Co., CA.If George A. was buried next to his parents, then his wife most likely died later in possibly another place if she is not buried next to him.Could you check the Silverthorn versus Silverstone surnames? This will help me with Wisconsin checking. Also does anyone know if the local newspaper office kept a file of local obituaries. Thank you again for your help.
