Benjamin Mize moved to Barron Co., KY with his sons, Isaac Mize and David soon after Issac's marriage to Ruth Ingram in 1809 in Patrick Co., Virginia.Possibly James moved with them at the same time but stayed for a brief period in Overton Co., TN before moving on to Barron Co., Kentucky. The family members that did move were in Kentucky as early as 1812 as evidenced by David's daughter, Martha was listed as born in 1812 in said state.Benjamin Mize is next and last found in the 1820 Barron Co., Kentucky Federal Census.
Benjamin's 2 daughters are unknown. We only know of them though census records and could have married in Rowan Co., NC, Patrick or Henry Co., Virginia, Overton Co., TN, or Barron Co., Kentucky. If you have a female Mize born between 1775 and 1790 who married in these counties, then you could have a possible hit here. Please contact me at email@example.com.
Benjamin's son, John Mize, who was probably the oldest, married Frances Ingram in 1800. He was probably well established in home at the time of the move of this parents and siblings and therefore didn't take part in the migration westward. He stayed in Patrick Co., VA and died there between 1840 and 1849.He had 8 known children, Joshua, James, Ruth, Sampson, Rachel, Fleming, John Marshal and Diona 'Dianna' Exoney Mize.Four of his sons moved to Mississippi, Joshua and John Marshal to Lafayette Co., MS, James to Choctaw Co., MS and Fleming for about 10 years before he moved to Arkansas.Sampson stayed in Patrick Co., Virginia.Ruth Mize married Henry Clark and moved to Camp Creek, West Virginia.Rachel Mize married Thomas Martin and Diona 'Dianna' Exoney Mize married John Clark and have no further information where they lived.I descend though Joshua Mize who married Rebekah Thomas in Patrick Co., VA and please contact me if you are connected though any of this branch of the family at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Benjamin's son, James Mize married Martha 'Patsy' Ingram and later moved to Fountain Co., Indiana between 1823 and 1829 as evidenced by census records of his 2 youngest children. After James Death, most of the family moved to Davis Co., Iowa. His two youngest sons, Thompson and Merrill Mize moved to Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co., California ( CA ) sometime around 1855 and have many descendants in that area.James died June 5, 1831.He had 6 known children, Robinsin, Jincy, Fleming, Samuel, Thompson and Merrill Mize.
Benjamin's son, Issac Mize who married Ruth Ingram stayed in Barron Co., Kentucky. He had Benjamin, Burrell B., and Lucy and 3 other unknown sons.He died prior to 1840.Very interested on finding more information on descendants of this family line especially who the 3 unknown sons were.
Benjamin's son, David Mize married Mary 'Polly' Quisenberry and died before August 1834 in Barron Co., Kentucky. He had 9 children, Elizabeth, John, Martha, Sarah, James H., Nancy, Jane Ruah, Mary A., and Albert M. Mize. Many of his line moved into Metcalfe Co., KY.
