In 1854 my g-g-grandfather, Isaiah Thomas(1826-1905) brought his young family to Sonoma County by wagon train, from Iowa. He was a farmer and settled near Forestville. He & his wife, Eliza Jane (Martin) Thomas(1829-1922) raised a family of 11 children; 7 boys and 4 girls. All of these children married in Sonoma County and several lived their entire lives there. There were strong & lasting connections, including marriages, with the following families, who were also immigrants with the wagon train; Martin, Davis, Rambo. There were additional marriages with the following families: Leffingwell, Phinney, Cheney, Williamson, Marshall, Bonham, and Churchman.
I am looking for more information on the following items: 1.The exact location of the Thomas family farm. I note there is a "Thomas Road", off Green Valley Road, to the West of Graton. 2.Who were the parents of Gertrude(aka Lizzie) Wiley, who married Samuel Martin Thomas in 1878? These were my g-grandparents, who later divorced and we lost track of Lizzie. 3.Was there an epidemic of some sort in the county in 1905? Isaiah, and sons Zachariah Albert Thomas & John Elton Thomas all died within a few months of each other in 1905.
Would greatly appreciate any information any one can add to the lives & times of these interesting people. I have much information, including pictures, that I would be happy to share.
