We are still looking for information about John F. Rhoades.
Some new info. I have come across... Ann Fernen (Firnen or Farden?) did not know how to read/write/spell so it is possible that all the names are not spelled as they should be. So it is possible that John F might be Rhodes, Rhoads, or one of the other many options! The information we have in my family has been passed down via John & Ann's son Christopher Columbus Rhoades who was told verbally by his mother Ann. Christopher never actually knew his father John F (Fox, Foxe, Forx) Rhoades. So there's a lot of room for name morphing.
We do still believe John came originally from Missouri.
My uncle did recently find a marriage record for an Ann Farden and John Rhodes 11 Jan 1851 St. Louis, Missouri. He said this corresponds to when my gggrandparents would have married but there was no other information listed so he is not certain this is the couple we are looking for.
Further info about Ann, she was born in Ireland. Possibly came to the US as a young teen around age 13.
