This is Earl's Obituary. It doesn't shed any light on his origins.

Earl F. Morgan
Graveside services for Earl F. Morgan, 77, a retired farmer who had lived in the Modesto area 14 years, will be held at noon tomorrow in the Ceres Cemetery with the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home in charge. He died Monday in a local hospital following a long illness. He was a native of Oklahoma and is survived by a son, William C. Morgan. Friends are invited to the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home from 6 to 9 o'clock tonight. ========================================= The Ceres cemetery and Franklin & Downs funeral home are both still in business. You can look them up on the GTE Super Pages, http://www.superpages.com/http://www.superpages.com/
I printed the obit from the microfilm and will mail it to you if you send me your address via e-mail.
The same site has a William C. Morgan born in 1919 in Oklahoma, who died in 1973 in Stanislaus County. He might be the son mentioned above, but he might not. His MMN is blank too.
Note finally something you probably already know - if all his life Earl told people he was born in Oklahoma, that would be what went on his death certificate and obituary, even if he was really the natural child of the Czar of Russia, born in Paris to a can-can dancer named Fifi Morgantia.
