Mrs. Ruth E. Bussell, 64, a Turlock resident for the past five years, died early yesterday morning in a local hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Waverly, Ill., Mrs. Bussell lived in Nebraska for 30 years prior to moving to Southern California in 1926. She came to the Turlock district in 1945, living in the Washington school district for three years until moving into the city two years ago.

She leaves her widower, Clar- ence R. Bussell, Turlock; a son, Bruce Bussell, Eugene, Oreg.; four sisters, Mrs. Addie Christen- sen, Arnold, Nebr., Mrs. Effie *** Calif and Mrs. Myrtle Bowers,*** Craig, Colo.; a brother, Ralph Ed- wards, Los Angeles; and two grandchildren.
[There is obviously a line or two missing in the obit, which went between the two lines I marked with "***" the missing line had Effie's married surname, Effie's home town and state, the third sister's name and home town. The third sister lived in California.]
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hale Funeral Chapel with Rev. H. H. Allen, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will follow in Turlock Cemetery.

Clarence Bussell dies after lengthy illness
Clarence R. Bussell, 78, died yesterday morning in a Modesto hospital following a lengthy illness.
A native of Nebraska, Mr. Bussell moved to Corona in 1927 and practiced as a veterinarian. He came to Turlock in 1930 and continued his practice until his retirement in 1953. He moved to Modesto at that time and resided there until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Bussell, Modesto; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Glayds Verrusio of Modesto and Mrs. Vera Perkins of Santa Cruz; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Meek of Walnut, in Southern California; one brother, Oscar Bussell of Wyoming; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p. m. in the Allen mortuary with the Rev. H. H. Allen officiating. Interment will bein Turlock cemetery.
Unless you know differently, I'd be inclined to ascribe the discrepancies in the years the couple moved to Southern California and to Turlock to the fact the lowest reporter on the totem pole gets to write the obits, or the fact that children forget their parents' history, not to marital discord or a bizarre life style.
