A Service for Hattie Mae Goodban, 81, of Modesto will be held tomorow at the Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial Park. She died Saturday in a local hospital. A native of Amador, she lived in California all her life. She had lived in Modesto 37 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Neighbors of Woodcraft and the Native Daughters of the Golden West, Stockton Parlor. Survivors are two sons, including Robert W. Goodban of Modesto, and three grandchildren.
I looked through the Bee from 22 Nov to 39 Nov without finding anything on Frank. He might be in the Turlock paper. I also checked the CDI for Goodban / Milan. Frank is the only male with that combination. I found a possible sister:
TRAUD,IRENEKATHRYN B. 10/14/1887 MMN MILAN FS GOODBAN B. CALIFORNIA D. ALAMEDA 07/13/1954
Lakewood Memorial is in Hughson, Stanislaus.
Amador is a primarily rural county in the Sierra Nevada foothills, not a town.
http://www.superpages.com/http://www.superpages.com/ has the Salas Brothers in Modesto as "Salas Bros". They are still in business, should you wish to call or write. Lakewood is there too.
Robert Goodban isn't on the CDI, but it looks like he's on the SSDI, http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgihttp://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi This Robert was born 21 Mar 1920 and died sometime in September 1981, in Modesto. The name, date and county fit.
I'm not related. I look up obituaries to pay back genealogical favors. If you have the time, ability and inclination to do likewise, look at the query board for your county.
I'll mail you the print-out if you send me your postal address privately.
