I looked up Martha's obituary for you. Adolf was "Al F. Lehman" in it, and still living in 1981. I suspect a lot of people named "Adolf" told people "Just call me Al" after 1941.
He is in the city directories for 1981 through 1989, living at 240 Kimble Street in Modesto. I didn't check earlier directories. He isn't in the 1991 or 1993. The library doesn't have the even numbered years.
Under the impression he died about 1992, I spent half an hour searching for him. I looked in the California Death Index and the SSDI. I called two cemeteries.
When I looked for him in Google I found your post on the Poland Forum from May, in which you tell the world he is 105 years old and still living. You could have made my life easier if you had noted that here.
Kimble Street is a quiet, older neighborhood lined with massive sycamore trees. It looks about the same today as it did in 1981, or in 1971, when I lived near it. The houses date from the 1930's and earlier. I lived at the corner of Johnson and East Morris, if you look up Kimble in MapQuest.
Martha's obit says she lived in Modesto since 1931. The next time I'm at the library I can look Adolf up in the directories prior to 1981. That would tell you where he lived and what he did for a living. With 20/20 hindsight, that is probably what you wanted. If you look at the posts with replies here, you'll see most people want an obit. I, being the selfless, good-natured, kindly and devilishly handsome soul that I am, look them up for the people. There are not a lot of 105-year olds walking around. I assumed you wanted his death date and obituary.
Lesson to me, look at people's posting history to see what ELSE they forgot to put in the current post. Don't assume things.
Lesson to you, PLEASE be a little more specific when you ask for something in a post. Do you want an obituary, or city directory listings, or what? Also, when you post about someone born in 1898, mention the fact he's living. I don't need to know where he's living, or anything else about him that would enable crooks to take advantage of him, just the fact he isn't dead.
If you send me your address privately I'll send you the copy of Martha's obit. It is scratchy but legible.
